Day 6.5: The Timms continue to attract the police

So, run-ins with the law continue to be a recurring theme of this trip.  How do we get this to stop??!  Our latest incident occurred in Gaffney, SC.  When I last blogged, we were back on the road—re-starting our trip from home.  The plan was for Michael to drive as long as he could and then we would stop somewhere to sleep—a rest area, truck stop or Walmart.  We couldn’t find a satisfactory truck stop and the rest area we found online was closed… so our last option was a Walmart parking lot.  We carefully searched the lot for any signs that parking was not allowed—we didn’t find any, so we pulled down the shades and everyone got into their respective beds.  Michael and the girls were asleep in about 2 minutes… I was still awake and looking at my phone.
All of a sudden I heard a LOUD knocking on the door.  Shoot. Perhaps this Walmart does not allow overnight parking after all.  There was a second loud knock and I woke up Michael and made my way to the door and asked the person to wait a minute for my husband.  Michael opened the door to multiple police officers and at least 4 squad cars.  The officer said that they had gotten a call that there was a woman screaming in a Hurricane RV in the Walmart parking lot—and we were the only one matching that description and they were here to check things out!!!  He asked if everything was okay, looking at me specifically!  We were both like—ummm, we’re okay and haven’t heard or done any screaming!  He said that sometimes kids call in pranks and they still have to check it out.  We assured him we were fine and they said ok.  They remained outside of the RV for about 10 minutes (must have been a slow night in Gaffney??!).  Of course by now, everyone was WIDE awake!  But we managed to settle back in and get a few hours of sleep.
The only thing we can figure is that either it was a prank or when Michael lowered the jacks, the screech of them sounded like screaming to someone?  Although that seems unlikely because they are really more mechanical sounding than like a person.  SO strange!  I guess God wants me to have some entertaining stories to share with all of you!!
